Surveying the entire collection, Infinite Blue collected museum objects that prominently featured the color blue. Part of their\u00a0<em>Year of Yes: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/exhibitions\/year_of_yes_reimagining_feminism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reimagining Feminism at the Brooklyn Museum<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>A Year of Yes: Reimagining Feminism at the Brooklyn Museum\u00a0<\/em>presents the history of feminism and feminist art while showcasing contemporary artistic practices and new thought leadership.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While not explicitly stated in their literature, Blue seems to have been selected by the museum&#8217;s curators for embodying core feminist values:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In cultures dating back thousands of years, blue\u2014the color of the skies\u2014has often been associated with the spiritual but also signifies power, status, and beauty. The spiritual and material aspects of blue combine to tell us stories about global history, cultural values, technological innovation, and international commerce.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The Painter Goblin meets Infinite Blue<\/h2>\n<p>The Painter Goblin is an ever evolving project. Color is <a href=\"https:\/\/exponentialdecay.co.uk\/blog\/colour-theory-whats-the-deal-with-the-palettes-im-using\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">key part<\/a>\u00a0of its evolution. To promote Infinite Blue and the goal of <em>A Year of Yes<\/em>, I decided to look at the Brooklyn Museum&#8217;s paintings via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikidata.org\/wiki\/Wikidata:WikiProject_sum_of_all_paintings\/Collection\/Brooklyn_Museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wikidata<\/a> to pay homage to, and showcase the work of the female artists in their collection.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the paintings below use one of the Painter Goblin&#8217;s palettes that incorporate the color blue in subtly different ways.
